Toadshade Wildflower Farm

Toadshade Wildflower Farm was established in 1996 with the goal of making native wildflowers, particularly perennials, more easily available. Their intention is to 1)provide native, perennial, propagated wildflower plants, 2) identify available plants clearly by both common and scientific name, 3) clearly summarize the native range and growth requirements of the wildflowers for sale, and 4) educate folks about the importance of native plants & encourage people to give them a try.

Accordingly, all of the plants that they offer are native (not alien, introduced, or naturalized). Toadshade propagates all of their own plants - no plants are dug from the wild!  They will provide all the information on how valuable these plants are for wildlife, including butterflies, native bees, moths, birds, and other beasts large and small. Planted within their native ranges, in sites appropriate to them, native perennial wildflowers will thrive and provide lasting color and interest for years to come.

You will find Toadshade at Hunterdon Community Farmers Market in Spring and Fall, the best time of year for planting!
